Where golf, mentorship, and charity meet.

What is Play for Ade?

Play for Ade is a mentoring initiative and fundraiser (for cancer awareness) that takes place on a golf course (Captain’s Choice / scramble format). Ade used the game of golf to learn from others while sharing his own experiences. Through the game, he was able to establish genuine relationships with mentors and mentees. As a result, the Play for Ade golf tournament is an opportunity to create similar relationships amongst the players .

Why Mentorship

Mentorship was very important to Ade as he was both an active mentee and mentor. As a mentee, he sought guidance from his more seasoned colleagues on how best to navigate his career. As a mentor, he leveraged his platform with the Hornets to make as much of an impact with his mentees both within and outside the organization. Through this tournament, we will help facilitate connections between mentors and mentees that will ultimately build lifelong relationships that will lead to the success of all involved

“Ade was one of the purest individuals I have ever known. Whenever he walked into a room, people were naturally drawn to him. Ade had the kindest heart. He was always thinking about other people before himself. Whether it was donating his time to charity or being there for his colleagues at work or just being a supportive shoulder for his family and friends.“

— Jacob Gallagher, Chief Revenue Officer, Charlotte Hornets
